Hey. I'm Elliot.
Right now, I am based in Queensland, Australia but spent time as a child living in the US, Brazil, Singapore and China.
Current, I am Head of Product at Explorate. A company in the freight and logistics space.
I was co-founder of Maxwell Plus, where we used AI to improve direct to patient diagnostics to help find cancer earlier. We developed and released our tools as a virtual care service to initially help men at risk of prostate cancer.
Previously I was a co-founder of Pepster, a hardware device to help kids with Cystic Fibrosis complete respiratory physiotherapy.
I also co-supervised two PhD students working in AI for medical imaging. They were exploring explainable AI and synthetic data generation for the training of AI.
I completed my PhD at the University of Queensland, designing hybrid MRI systems, specifically looking at the simulation and optimisation of gradient coils for MRI-Linac systems. Before that, I completed a Bachelor of Engineering as an electrical engineer, also at the University of Queensland. I spent a short amount of time working as an engineer for a mining company before deciding to focus on applying my skills in healthcare.
Over the years, I have spent a lot of my time writing software, spanning web apps to embedded systems.
My other interests are photography, playing video games, running, and strength training.
